About Karen

beach-triangle-2 Karen Fabian is an outgoing, passionate, energetic woman who loves all things healthy. While running and yoga are two of her biggest passions, she also finds inspiration through her yoga teaching to both kids and adults, her reading sessions with children, time with her lovable yellow lab and just a day at the beach. A mix of corporate as well as the more organic, Karen works in a traditional corporate environment while also teaching yoga. She is a former personal chef and ran her own business, cooking for some notable Bostonians. She enjoys sharing her thoughts on life, yoga, running and all things “LOHAS” (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) in her blog which you can read about right here, on her website.

Karen ran her first marathon in October, 2008 and has competed in many road races of other distances as well. Her corporate background is deep with management, sales and operations experience in the managed care and software design industries. Karen currently works as a technical project manager for a business process outsourcing company. Karen’s role is to manage both a technical team as well as act as a liaison between the technical team and the customer. It’s quite a different thing to manage a team of software designers versus managing a group of yoga students but it’s just as rewarding! While Karen has worked full-time as a yoga teacher, she currently works full-time in the corporate environment and works part-time as a yoga teacher.

Karen offered yoga classes in the Fenway as part of an experiment to offer low-cost, challenging classes in an unfinished space. Bare Bones Yoga (www.barebonesyoga.com) was a hit in the winter and spring of 2009. Karen is currently looking for additional spaces within which to teach these kinds of classes. Visit the Bare Bones Yoga site for more information. Karen is a Certified Baptiste Yoga Teacher and has her Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 200HR designation from Yoga Alliance. Any workshops or trainings taken with her can  be used towards your own CEU requirement with Yoga Alliance.

You can contact Karen at karen@kfabian.com as well as follow her on Twitter at “barebonesyoga” and on Facebook as well.
